On Snubberly (A Poem)

Garrr. I be drafting words again…

On Snubberly

Snubberly
should be a word
because it’s all
snout-nosed and knobbly;
bump|crusts of b’s
bobbling above
snarls and lover|ly’s
in grasses fresh
with the tears
of morning.

And there’s a hint
of bubbly – of smiles
glimpsed through the shrubbery
of an existence lead
by our pointed extremities.
‘Snubberling’ through
the laundry like a gobbling
of turkey twists
circling the reduced
section of Sainsbury’s.
